Religious Programmes

At the heart of every ABSoc is faith. Weekly Quran circles, monthly majalis, and remembrance gatherings keep students spiritually grounded amid the pressures of university life. Scholars and lecturers visit campuses to deliver talks on Islamic history, ethics, and jurisprudence.

The AhlulBayt calendar β€” from Muharram to Ramadan, from Mawlid to Wafat β€” is brought alive on campus, ensuring students never feel disconnected from their faith.

Social Events & Wellbeing

University can be isolating β€” especially for students far from home. ABSocs create spaces where you belong: sisters' and brothers' socials, hikes, iftars, games nights, and freshers' fairs that welcome every new student into the fold.

These aren't just parties β€” they're intentional community-building, fostering real friendships and a support network that lasts long after graduation.

Charity & Service

Islam calls us to serve β€” and our network does. From local food banks to international relief drives, ABSocs channel the values of compassion and generosity into tangible action. The network collectively raises tens of thousands of pounds each year.

Notable campaigns include annual food drives and charity dinners.

Education & Intellectual Growth

ABSocs bring Islamic scholars with different expertise to campuses, organise Islamic philosophy and history seminars, and run discussion circles and reading groups exploring classical and contemporary Muslim thought. Education is not just about degrees β€” it's about holistic formation.

The MSC also runs its own resource library accessible to all members, covering topics from Islamic jurisprudence to the life of the AhlulBayt and contemporary Muslim issues.

National Campaigns

Every year, MSC coordinates network-wide campaigns that amplify our collective voice. The flagship Ashura Awareness Campaign has reached over 30,000 students across the UK, using exhibitions, talks, and social media to share the story and significance of Ashura.

The MSC Annual Conference brings together hundreds of students, alumnis, scholars, and activists for a weekend of learning, strategy, and community β€” the heartbeat of the network.
